Ford recommends every 60,000 miles. I have had them go much longer (120,000 miles). It is a relatively cheap investment to make to assure that you don't lose your belt out on the road to change it at the 60,000 mile suggested intervals.

Most of these answers are right,you do need to change it when the cracks start to appear..Just thought i would be more specific..The cracks will be showing on the inside of the belt..Most of the time the outside of the belt will still appear fine.
