Your owner's manual will state the time intervals. I always change mine by 80k miles.

There isn't really a set time to change it, just check it for wear, probably every 6,000 miles according to your owner's manual.
Serpentines are very easily visually inspected if you know what you're looking for so there's no need to replace one before it's starting to look a little ragged. But just to give you an idea, they should last at least 60,000 miles.
