How many miles after you change belts of engine( serpentine...etc)?

I had 3 Jeep Wrangler 6 Cylinder's in 16 years and they all had the surpentine belt. You should have it changed every 60 to 65,000 miles. If it frays and breaks you'll have serious problems. It's best to stay on top of those things.

Between 50 to 60 thousand miles on the average. Also if you feel the inside of the belt and there is cracking with pieces missing, then do it before the mileage is an issue.

If you live in a real cold area where it gets down to -40 or colder and put a new belt on, make sure you run the engine for a couple of hours before you shut the engine off after installing it. A brand new belt in sub zero temps will break without having some wear time on it if you start it out cold.

It is usually best to follow the car makers' recommendation. Check your maintenance manual.
Examine the belt for dry cracked areas. If you notice any then buy a new belt and install it so you don't get stuck. Once the belt gets brittle it will break.
