there is a smell that is similar to gasoline, but not exactly gasoline. once i drive for a minute, the smell goes away, but that is probably because i become use to it. anyway, what could be the problem?

your problem is you went to jiffy boob and they couldn't suck the milk out of a tit right.. take it back and talk to the manager not a a goon.

Well your first mistake was going to Jiffy Lube. But that is another story.

First take it back and tell them what you mell. It is possable that thy forgot to put something back thy took off.

It soundds like the belt is eather the wrong one and it is rubbing on the block.
sounds like the %26quot;mechanic%26quot; sat on your seat with his greasy clothes and got some on your seat. It has a unique smell, kind of like wheel bearing grease mixed with gas. Stick your nose on your seat and see if that's it.
Take it back to Rippy Lube and make the manager have a whiff of what you're smelling. And never let those guys work on your car again. Oil change specialists are the lowest of entry-level mechanic jobs out there. Next step is a brake and muffler shop, and after that mechanics will either work for themselves or sign up with a dealership.
