How much should a serpentine belt replacement cost?

i have a 1999 lexus rx300 and it has a horrible squeaking sound, my auto friend said it was a rusty serpentine belt, i want to change it, is it worth it and how much should it cost? thanks for any answers

I didn't know it was possible for a rubber belt to rust. Most serp belts if it's just one should run you under 100 bucks parts and labor.

had belt replaced on my impala cost was $45 for the belt and $22 for labor to replace it
first of all belts are made of rubber they don't rust. They crack and that is what makes it squeal. The shop where i work at for a 6 rib belt it costs 59.99 for the belt and labor. Other shops should be about the same. If you have a three rib it should cost a little less. some lexus still uses two to three belts. Make sure how many you have before you call any shop.
