No air conditioning, I already have the replacement. I know where the belt goes, it just won't stretch enough. Is there any sort of trick with the tensioner, or any way to get good leverage? The tensioner assembly looks a lot more complicated than it is, and I think it might do something.

There is a small square cut into the tensioner, use a ratchet with no socket on it.
Also, it the belt is off a rib on one of the pulleys, it'll shorten up quite a bit. Of course, you may also have the wrong belt or may not have routed it correctly.

are you sure u have the correct belt,it should be part #938k6 if thats the one you have then xchange it 4 part # 940k6 its a bit longer?good luck
