Can i use a ratchet to change my serpentine belt?

i've got a 94 mustang gt, v8 with air conditioning, it's my first time attempting to change a belt, and i've noticed the tensioner thing has this square hole in it. all the videos i've seen say it can be done with just a ratchet, but i'm a little concerned about turning that bolt counter-clockwise, as this might loosen it? can someone with experience give me some tips on this?

Yeah, your 5.0L is really easy to work on. Just put a 3/8 inch ratchet into the hole and pull to release the tention. Make sure your new belt is seated properly on all pulleys before start up and while you have the belt off......spin all the pulleys, if any are loud replace them.
