I'm going to change my serpentine belts on my car...?

Should I do this when the old belts are warm, cold or does it not matter? (2003 Dodge Intrepid)|||It doesn%26#039;t matter, but a hot engine may burn your hands. Above all, make a diagram yourself (no matter how long it takes) of the way the belt is threaded around the tensioner and pulleys. You%26#039;ll be sorry if you don%26#039;t. Some engines require you to get under the crankshaft pulley to thread the new belt into place. Then you%26#039;ll need to raise the front of the car using Rhino ramps and safety jack stands, so you might want to have a repair shop change the belt if you need to drive the car every day.
